Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation and Automotive Heritage Foundation to award a $2,500 scholarship at 2019 Concours d’Elegance

Troy, Mich. – Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation (AWAF) will present a $2,500 education scholarship in honor of Automotive Heritage Foundation on Sunday, July 28 at the 2019 Concours d’Elegance in Plymouth, Mich.
The scholarship recipient is Alexandra “Ellie” Milosz, an incoming freshman at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Mich., who plans to study computer science. As a child, Ellie became interested in cars when her dad, a news channel cameraman, engaged her at many of his automotive-related work assignments.
AWAF is a professional foundation dedicated to supporting the advancement of automotive professionals. The organization awards scholarships on a quarterly basis to female students who demonstrate passion and drive for the automotive industry, and to date has awarded more than $425,000 in scholarships. Alexandra Milosz is graduate of Northville High School and will attend Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan to study computer science. As a child, Ellie was interested in cars, because her dad, a news channel cameraman, engaged her at many of his automotive related work assignments. Having a keen interest in computers and technology, Ellie became part of Girls Who Code movement in 2017 and realized her career aspirations of computer science with a focus on software engineering.
Alexandra is a Mentor/Big Sister with Equine Moments, LLC providing children with the knowledge of handling and riding horses and the tools to find their confidence, learn trust, and communication skills. She was involved in student activities for underprivileged children and children with disabilities, and was a member of the high school marching band. Ellie works at Burger King as a team leader, and has worked every summer since 2015 at Ann Arbor Financial in office and data management. Her hometown is Northville, Michigan.
