The 2021 Automotive Heritage Awards

Coming Soon

The call for entries in our Automotive Heritage Journalism Competition went out recently, so just a reminder to all our journalists: Entry is easy right here on our website and the deadline is May 31st. While our other three awards are mostly managed in-house, we are always open to nominations or suggestions for the Future Collectible Vehicle and Concept Car competitions. Deliberations for the AHA Lifetime Achievement Award are managed as much as possible by previous honorees but nominations are welcome as well. Details on each of the competitions are here.
By the way, the final decision on Future Collectible Vehicle of the Year, will be yours. Watch for the early June Bulletin for your chance to vote.

A Fascinating Discussion

When we talk about automotive heritage, we think of history, culture, and aesthetics. Our friend and colleague, John McElroy, hosted a fascinating one-hour discussion on his Autoline After Hours program recently with author and historian Karl Ludvigsen, one of the most honored history writers in the business and AHA past winner, and Jim Hall, automotive pundit extraordinaire with savant-like knowledge of automobiles current and past. John’s regular cohost, veteran journalist Gary Vasilash, shares the questioning. Impetus for the chat is Karl’s book “Fast Friends.” If you appreciate auto heritage, I bet you’ll love this.

SAH Membership

The Society of Automotive Historians is looking to increase visibility and membership this upcoming year, and we’re helping. Members and friends of the SAH can also help by including SAH brochures in show packets, getting them into the hands of clubs, sharing them with the younger folks at university history, engineering and design programs . . . and in a myriad of other ways. You can also connect with the SAH on social media and the website. Let us know if you can help as well.

Help Preserve Automotive Heritage

We humbly solicit donations of any size from those who share our passion for the promulgation of automotive history culture and aesthetics. Our 501(c)3 status was granted by the IRS effective February 2019. We would also be pleased to share in your knowledge, expertise and dedication as in-kind and volunteer contributions to AHA and AHF projects.
