Those who love racing history will love this chat with Bill Warner, founder and Chairman of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. This video is part of a series produced by the Brumos Collection in Jacksonville, FL. As a teenager Bill began photographing and writing about sports car racing leading to an amazing career. You’ll hear some great stories about the cars and the people of what some would call the golden age of sports car racing.
Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance – May 20-23
Easily the second most prestigious Concours d’Elegance in the U.S. is at the Ritz Carlton Hotel just north of Jacksonville. Bill Warner and his team do an amazing job every year of presenting the best classic, racing and collector cars in the world. Usually held the first weekend in March, it was cancelled last year and postponed this year. Lyn St. James will be honored along with the 935 Porsche cars, Chevy racing history, eccentric two-stroke motorcycles and a couple dozen other categories.
MotorCities at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House
Though the dreaded virus slowed progress on the new visitors center and a comprehensive rethinking of the visiting experience, the Ford House is ready for a grand opening May 22-23. The EyesOnDesign show traditionally on Fathers Day has been moved to September 19th. Our friends at the MotorCities National Heritage Area explore the changes on their MotorCities At Home series.
